• Advising and representing the local authority on issues relating to capacity,
• Ensuring the local authority’s practice and procedures comply with the Human Rights Act 1998
• Advising on the practice and procedure relating to Mental Health Review Tribunals
• Making applications to and handling cases in the Court of Protection
• Advising on the law, guidelines and policy documents relating to joint working and partnership boards
